The Medical College of Wisconsin’s Pediatric Specialty APP Fellowship Program is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide specialty medical care within the inpatient/outpatient specialty clinical areas. This position is located in Milwaukee, WI at Children’s Wisconsin. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Fellow works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching.

The Pediatric Specialty Centralized APP fellowship is an innovative one-year training program that teaches APP fellows to become highly skilled in the multidisciplinary, collaborative, and evidence-based management of complex and challenging patients in inpatient/outpatient specialty clinical areas.
The curriculum is composed of multi-modal learning opportunities that may include the following: in-person didactics, online classrooms, simulation, proctored procedures, and/or mentored clinical rotations.
The APP fellow will have a strong foundation in evidence-based practice and ensure an environment of safe, quality care.
The Pediatric Specialty Centralized APP fellow will have a variety of experiences caring for the pediatric population through the care continuum with variable healthcare needs.
The Pediatric Specialty Centralized APP fellow will work at Children’s Wisconsin locations.
The Pediatric Specialty Centralized APP fellow reports to the Chief, CSG Advanced Practice Providers.
Schedule:
1.0 FTE (full time)
Salaried (exempt)
APP fellows receive compensation during the program. APP fellow salary is $75,000 and paid out as per MCW standard. Taxes and deductions apply.
Typical schedule: Predominantly Mon-Friday with variable night/weekend/holiday needs based upon clinical rotation needs.
Weekend and/or holiday requirements: variable based on clinical rotation
On call: variable based on clinical rotation

The Pediatric Advanced Practice Provider Fellowship Program is a 12-month training program located in Milwaukee, WI at Children’s Wisconsin Hospital that teaches APP fellows to become highly skilled in the inter-professional, collaborative, and evidence-based and evidence-based management of complex and challenging patients.

Clinical experiences tailored to meet your training needs & professional goals:
Combined pediatric medical & surgical subspecialty experience
Acute/critical care inpatient experiences
Fellows will have core rotations inpatient and specialty outpatient and elective rotations inpatient and outpatient providing specialty health care services within defined scope of practice in collaboration with a licensed physician and in accordance with MCW/FMLH policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
Preferred Experience:
Zero years of experience required.
The APP fellowship programs are open to new graduates or experienced APPs.
This position is geared towards a new graduate or clinician with less than 1 year of APP experience
Minimum Education:
Advanced Practice Nurse: Master’s Degree or higher in Nursing from a nationally accredited organization.
Physician Assistant: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies from an ARC-PA-accredited organization.
Minimum Requirements:
Advanced Practice Nurse/ Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner
Wisconsin RN License
Wisconsin Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber License
Certification Requirements:
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
DEA registration required.
Nurse Practitioner Certification from a nationally accredited professional nursing organization
Pediatric NP (PNP)
Family NP (FNP)
Physician Assistant
Wisconsin Physician Assistant License
Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
