The Application Specialist is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing specific software applications within an organization. They provide technical expertise to end-users, troubleshoot issues, offer training and documentation, and collaborate with IT teams to ensure the seamless functioning of applications.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


1. Application Support:

• Provide expert technical support to end-users experiencing issues with specific applications.

• Tests, troubleshoots, corrects, identifies root causes, and uses diagnostic tools and utilities to resolve application problems.

• Escalates issues to vendors and works with vendors for solutions to ensure smooth application operation.


2. Report Design and Development:

• Collaborate with stakeholders, including business users, analysts, and other IT teams, to understand reporting requirements.

• Utilize reporting tools and technologies of the applications.

• Create visually appealing and easy-to-understand reports and dashboards.

• Ensure that reports meet quality standards and are accurate and reliable.


3. Data Analysis:

• Analyze data sources to extract relevant information for reporting purposes.

• Perform data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency in reports.

• Write SQL queries or use data extraction tools to retrieve data from databases.


4. Training and Documentation:

• Develop and deliver training programs for end-users to maximize their proficiency in using applications.

• Create and maintain comprehensive user manuals, FAQs, and training materials to assist users in understanding application functionalities.

• Conduct training sessions and workshops for individuals or groups as needed.


5. Configuration and Customization:

• Collaborate with developers or vendors to implement customizations and integrations based on user requirements.

• Test and validate application configurations to guarantee they meet user expectations and function correctly.


6. Collaboration and Communication:

• Act as a liaison between end-users and IT teams or vendors, conveying user requirements and issues effectively.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate applications with other systems or tools within the organization.

• Communicate updates, changes, and known issues related to applications to relevant stakeholders.


7. Quality Assurance and Testing:

• Develop test plans and conduct testing to ensure software meets specified requirements.

• Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) and gather feedback from stakeholders.

• Work closely with development teams to resolve defects and issues identified during testing.


8. Change Management:

• Facilitate change management processes related to application updates and enhancements.

• Communicate changes to relevant stakeholders, addressing concerns and ensuring user adoption.


9. Continuous Improvement:

• Stay updated with the latest features and updates of supported applications.

• Recommend process improvements, enhancements, or new tools to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of supported applications.

• Provide feedback to developers or vendors regarding application usability and functionality.


QUALIFICATIONS:


•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

•8+ years of experience in Enterprise Applications.

•Proven experience in maintenance, administration, and troubleshooting practices for enterprise applications like SAP OR SALESFORCE, ERP, CRM and supply chain system…etc.

•Familiarity with database management, data analysis, and reporting tools (preferably BI tools).

•Operating effectively in a complex environment involving multiple applications and a variety of technologies at several locations

•Strong technical attitude and ability to quickly learn new applications.

•Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

•Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

•Ability to conduct training sessions and create user-friendly documentation.
