Role description

Role Proficiency:

Independently analyze and develop applications and review and design solutions in their assigned area of responsibility on ERP/CRM systems. Manage and mentor a team

Outcomes:

Act creatively to develop applications and select appropriate technical options. Optimize application development maintenance and performance by employing design patterns and by reusing proven solutions while accounting for others' developmental activities

Develop technical documents such as Functional Design Specifications Deployment documentation

Perform design document reviews peer code reviews and suggest code improvements

A single point of contact for the build and deployment issues and resolve them on time

Learn technology business domain system domain individually and as recommended by the project/account

Contribute to ERP/CRM Practice related activities for example (but not limited to) assembling content for case studies contributing to reusability coordinating internal seminars and conduct knowledge sharing sessions organizing sessions during and participating in hackathons etc.

Select appropriate technical options for development such as reusing improving or reconfiguration of existing components.

Identify the problem patterns and improve the technical design of the application/system

Optimizes efficiency cost and quality.

Interpret the application/feature/component design to develop the same in accordance with specifications.

Code debug test and document and communicates product/component/feature development stages.

Validate results with user representatives integrates and commissions the overall solution.

Influence and improve customer satisfaction through things like (but not limited to) offering suggestions for code refactoring and for improvements in business processes completing sprint deliverables ahead of time helping client architects and product owners by way of design suggestions and/or explaining functionality to business stakeholders etc…

Influence and improve employee engagement within the project teams

Learn and implement technology newly released features after impact analysis wherever applicable.

Attend industry/technology specific conferences (if applicable) and share the knowledge with the team.

Conduct peer reviews and demand high quality standards from the reviewed deliverables.

Conduct technical assessments for hiring candidates to developer/lead roles.

Mentor and manage a team.

Set goals for self and team in NorthStar. Provide timely feedback to team members

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Workday QA Project Manager to lead the quality assurance strategy and execution across Workday implementations, enhancements, and integrations. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, hands-on experience with Workday modules, and a thorough understanding of testing best practices. This role ensures that all Workday-related projects meet business requirements, are free of defects, and are delivered on time. Key Responsibilities: Project Management: Lead QA planning and execution for Workday projects (e.g., HCM, Payroll, Finance, Time Tracking). Define project scope, timelines, resources, and deliverables for QA workstreams. Collaborate with business stakeholders, HRIS, IT, and vendors to align testing milestones with project goals. Track progress using project management tools (JIRA, MS Project, Smartsheet, etc.). Manage risks, issues, and change requests related to QA deliverables. Quality Assurance & Testing: Develop and maintain test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scripts for Workday projects. Oversee unit, system, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT). Ensure test coverage for Workday business processes, reports, integrations, and security roles. Coordinate UAT with business users; collect and analyze feedback. Manage test defect lifecycle using tools like JIRA or ALM. Workday Expertise: Understand Workday architecture, configuration, and functional modules. Support testing for Workday updates/releases and security changes. Partner with functional leads and Workday consultants to validate configuration changes. Team Leadership & Communication: Lead cross-functional testing teams including QA analysts, developers, and SMEs. Provide regular QA status updates to project sponsors and stakeholders. Conduct testing-related workshops and training for end users, if needed. Qualifications: Required: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, or related field. 8+ years of experience in QA/testing with at least 2 years managing QA efforts for Workday projects. Strong understanding of Workday HCM, Payroll, or Finance modules. Demonstrated experience managing QA teams and deliverables within an Agile or Waterfall environment. Proficiency with QA and project management tools (e.g., JIRA, HP ALM, TestRail, MS Project). Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills. Preferred: Workday certification (HCM, Financials, Payroll, or Integration). Experience with Workday testing automation tools (e.g., Kainos Smart). Familiarity with SOX or compliance testing requirements. PMP, CSM, or equivalent project management certification.
