Architectural and Construction Works Leader

Sabancı University is seeking an “ Architectural and Construction Works Leader ” with the following qualifications to work in its Procurement and Operations unit.

The workplace is the Sabancı University Campus in Tuzla.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate of Civil Engineering or Architecture departments of universities,
• At least 10 (ten) years of professional experience,
• Experienced in construction sites and actively involved in field processes,
• Proficient in AutoCAD, able to create project drawings and revisions,
• Experienced in tracking progress and work schedules,
• Experienced in working with official institutions, obtaining permits and following up on processes,
• Strong communication skills, able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders,
• Fluent in English,
• Leadership skills and experience in team management,
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

JOB DESCRIPTION

To troubleshoot, plan and execute maintenance, repair and renovations, distribute notifications received from the call system within the department, finalize them, take necessary safety precautions for work, buildings and facilities during services provided, manage, direct and coordinate the personnel under their responsibility, manage and control subcontractors, and provide other services within their area of responsibility.

To prepare operational, maintenance, investment, and project budgets and technical specifications for the areas under their responsibility, obtain and evaluate preliminary bids, submit them to senior management, implement, control, direct, supervise, inspect, report and carry out progress tracking activities.

To make requests for necessary services/materials related to the appropriate use of workshops and technical areas and maintenance activities, create procedures, instructions and other documents related to construction works, plan, control and coordinate project management activities related to construction works in new building and facility investments. To cooperate with other relevant technical units in the provision of services.

Within the scope of their managerial duties, to coordinate all subordinate employees in the most efficient way, address training deficiencies, and ensure the most effective implementation of the shift schedule.

To ensure the continuity of the University's existing operations, systems, and processes, to improve them, and to present new proposals by meeting with managers within the unit and, when necessary, with stakeholders inside and outside the institution.

The Architecture and Construction Unit encompasses academic buildings, social buildings, student dormitories and residences, sports facilities, parking areas, walkways, roads, wastewater, rainwater, and infrastructure systems.

They carry out all necessary activities related to their area of responsibility, fulfill all tasks assigned by the University officer, and provide support to other units. They foster collaboration through teamwork, act with a sense of responsibility, demonstrate sensitivity in service, focus on continuous learning and development, and exhibit personal awareness. They act in accordance with legal and administrative regulations, publications, announcements, and notifications related to Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management System, and Quality Management System.
