Architectural Designer

MAIGE Inc. is seeking an Architectural Designer to join its Architectural Planning / Development Design Department. This position is responsible for independently performing architectural analysis and design functions, and is directly responsible for technical deliverables. This position provides professional services throughout the project lifecycle in the areas of architectural design, space planning, facility renovation, construction coordination, and regulatory/compliance support. This includes building code analysis, and coordination with structural and MEP systems. This position reports directly to the C.O.O. and C.E.O. of the company.

This role is not limited to architectural design and drawing production. It also functions as an internal architectural specialty role within the company, coordinating and addressing professional matters related to architecture, spatial planning, construction, materials, equipment, regulatory requirements, and project implementation. This position is expected to translate client needs, operational requirements, technical constraints, and local code requirements into systematic and buildable design solutions, while leading projects from early planning and conceptual design through design development, consultant coordination, and construction-phase implementation.

This position will primarily focus and lead the company’s internal development initiatives and client-facing project commissions, including new warehouse and logistics facility development, renovation of existing warehouse facilities, internal functional zoning, integration of automation systems, showroom and live-stream studio design, office interiors, and branded entry/identity features. The successful candidate must have academic training in architecture and advanced architectural design, and be able to apply architectural design, spatial analysis, 3D modeling, drawing production, diagrammatic communication, code analysis, and interdisciplinary coordination skills to facilitate complex project delivery. Advanced architectural knowledge, and analytical and technical decision-making, is of utmost importance.

The position requires close collaboration with multiple internal departments, as well as direct coordination with clients, material and product vendors, structural and MEP engineers, contractors, and government/inspection authorities, in order to ensure that project designs are accurate, executable, code-compliant, and aligned with client objectives.

This position may be structured as a remote or hybrid role depending on project needs and business operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Architectural Planning, Space Design, and Project Development

  • Plan and design warehouse, logistics, and related commercial spaces, including space layout, functional zoning, operational circulation, and internal flow organization.
  • Participate in early planning and architectural design for new-site developments, as well as renovation, expansion, and functional upgrades of existing warehouse facilities.
  • Develop practical and implementable architectural and spatial design solutions based on clients’ business models, operational requirements, and space-use objectives.
  • Create and augment interior facility renovation design, including partition wall additions, creation of new functional rooms, reorganization of space, and optimization of facility layouts.
  • Prepare site-related design studies, including parking layout, truck circulation planning, and related diagrams.

2. 3D Modeling, Diagram Production, and Visual Communication

  • Develop project models using 3D modeling tools to analyze and optimize warehouse space, operational workflows, equipment layouts, and space utilization.
  • Produce architectural analysis diagrams, functional zoning diagrams, operational flow diagrams, and client presentation graphics.
  • Communicate design logic, spatial relationships, and implementation strategies through drawings, physical models, digital 3D models, renderings, and diagrammatic materials.

3. Architectural Drawings, Construction Documentation, and Client Presentation Materials

  • Prepare architectural drawings and technical documentation using professional design software, including plans, elevations, sections, details, construction drawings, and related supporting materials.
  • Prepare presentation decks, PDF reports, milestone presentation materials, and weekly client presentation packages.

4. Code Analysis, Consultant Coordination, and Construction Support

  • Analyze applicable building codes, city requirements, construction regulations, fire/life safety requirements, and other relevant rules and standards in the project jurisdiction to ensure code-compliant design solutions.
  • Coordinate with material suppliers, equipment vendors, manufacturers, and engineering consultants regarding materials, systems, equipment requirements, and related design adjustments.
  • Coordinate design solutions with structural engineers, MEP engineers, contractors, and other professional consultants to ensure effective integration between architectural design and engineering systems.
  • Participate in site measurements, construction coordination, project implementation, and construction administration-related activities.
  • Facilitate the preparation of drawings and documentation required for racking permit applications, fire inspections, and related compliance processes.
  • Revise and balance design solutions based on client needs, budget constraints, and implementation limitations to ensure that project outcomes are practical, buildable, and executable.

5. Interior Design, Display Spaces, and Brand-Related Design

  • Design interiors and supporting spaces related to project development, including showrooms, live-stream studios, office spaces, entry lobbies, and other client-facing environments.
  • Prepare space plans, interior design concepts, display fixture/booth designs, renderings, and related visual presentation materials.
  • Facilitate the design of signage, logo walls, entry identity features, and other branded spatial elements to enhance the overall quality and identity of the project environment.

6. Project Advancement and Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Develop and maintain overall project schedules across design, consultant coordination, drawing production, and construction implementation phases.
  • Advance project design work under the direction of the CEO, and independently manage smaller projects or task packages when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to facilitate the successful execution of client projects.
