Architectural Designer

450 Architects is a San Francisco-based architecture design studio guided by an ethos of sustainability and community engagement, designing civic, educational, and residential buildings. We’re looking for an Architectural Designer to support our project architects on real projects—producing Revit drawings and models, developing design studies, and creating the graphics and presentations that move work forward.

Licensure isn’t required. We’re looking for someone earlier in their career who’s organized, takes direction well, and wants real range—across design, production, and a close look at how buildings actually get built—and who cares about doing work that serves its communities, with an interest in working toward licensure over time.

What You’ll Do

• Support the project architect across design and documentation on real projects.
• Prepare Revit drawings and models—plans, sections, elevations, details, and schedules.
• Develop design studies and produce study models, diagrams, renderings, and precedent research.
• Create presentation materials and graphics for client and community meetings.
• Contribute to construction document sets under the direction of senior staff.
• Document meeting decisions and coordinate basic information with consultants and product reps.
• Stay organized, follow office standards, and keep project files in order.

What You Bring

Required

• Professional degree in architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch).
• 3+ years of professional architectural experience preferred (strong candidates with less experience considered).
• Revit experience, with the ability to contribute to real drawing sets—not just modeling.
• Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) for presentations and graphics.
• A strong portfolio that shows both design thinking and technical production.
• Organized, collaborative, and reliable—takes direction well and communicates progress clearly.
• Bay Area-based and able to work in person at our San Francisco studio every day, with local job-site visits as needed.

Preferred

• Interest in pursuing architectural licensure.
• AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Rhino or SketchUp for modeling.
• Rendering and visualization skills (Enscape or Lumion).
• Hand sketching.

Compensation & Benefits

• $80,000–$95,000 per year, depending on experience.
