Architectural Draftsman

Job Summary

The Architectural Draftsman is responsible for preparing accurate architectural drawings, shop drawings, detailed construction drawings, and as-built drawings for high-rise building projects. The role involves coordinating with architects, structural engineers, MEP engineers, and site teams to ensure drawings comply with project specifications, Dubai Municipality regulations, consultant requirements, and applicable building codes.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare architectural shop drawings, detailed drawings, and construction drawings based on approved design documents.
• Produce floor plans, elevations, sections, reflected ceiling plans, door and window schedules, and architectural details.
• Develop as-built drawings reflecting site changes and completed works.
• Coordinate architectural drawings with structural and MEP disciplines to eliminate design conflicts.
• Review consultant comments and revise drawings accordingly.
• Ensure all drawings comply with Dubai Municipality regulations, project specifications, and applicable international standards.
• Assist architects in preparing design development and tender documentation.
• Coordinate with site engineers to incorporate site modifications into updated drawings.
• Maintain proper document control and drawing revision records.
• Support material submittals by preparing technical details and layouts.
• Attend coordination meetings with consultants, subcontractors, and project teams when required.
• Verify dimensions and site conditions before preparing final drawings.
• Ensure timely submission of drawings to support construction schedules.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Architectural Drafting, or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as an Architectural Draftsman in high-rise building construction projects.
• UAE/GCC experience is preferred.

Technical Skills

• Proficient in AutoCAD (mandatory).
• Experience with Autodesk Revit (BIM) is preferred.
• Knowledge of Navisworks and BIM coordination is an advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Understanding of architectural detailing and construction methodologies.
• Familiarity with Dubai Municipality regulations and local authority requirements.
