Position Title: Architectural Draftsman

Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Architectural Draftsman with strong expertise in high-rise building projects in the UAE. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing architectural shop drawings, detailed construction drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings while ensuring compliance with project specifications, consultant requirements, and local authority regulations.

The candidate must be proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp and capable of coordinating architectural works with structural and MEP disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

Architectural Drafting & BIM

• Prepare and develop architectural shop drawings, detailed construction drawings, and as-built drawings.
• Produce floor plans, elevations, sections, ceiling layouts, architectural details, schedules, and finishing details.
• Create and update BIM models using Revit in accordance with project requirements.
• Develop 3D architectural models and presentations using SketchUp.
• Ensure all drawings are accurate, coordinated, and compliant with project specifications.

Coordination

• Coordinate architectural drawings with Structural, MEP, and Interior Design disciplines.
• Review design and construction drawings to identify discrepancies and conflicts.
• Participate in technical and coordination meetings with consultants and project teams.
• Incorporate consultant comments and revisions into approved drawings.

Site & Construction Support

• Provide technical drafting support to site engineers and project management teams.
• Prepare and revise drawings based on site conditions and construction requirements.
• Assist in resolving drawing-related issues during construction.
• Conduct site visits to verify dimensions and construction details when required.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain proper drawing registers and revision records.
• Ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality, Civil Defense, and relevant UAE authority requirements.
• Prepare drawings for consultant and authority submissions.
• Support the preparation of project close-out documentation and as-built records.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Drafting, or related field.
• Certification or training in AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM is preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience as an Architectural Draftsman.
• Minimum 3 years UAE experience with a Main Contractor.
• Proven experience in high-rise residential, commercial, mixed-use, or hospitality projects.
• Experience in preparing architectural shop drawings and BIM models for construction projects.

Technical Skills

• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Revit (BIM Modeling).
• Proficiency in SketchUp for 3D modeling and visualization.
• Familiarity with Navisworks and BIM coordination tools is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of construction detailing, architectural materials, and building systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Requirements

• Experience on high-rise building projects exceeding 20 floors.
• Knowledge of BIM standards and workflows.
• Familiarity with Dubai Municipality and Civil Defense approval requirements.
• Immediate availability or short notice period preferred.
