Job Purpose:
The Architectural Engineer will be responsible for designing, reviewing, and overseeing the implementation of architectural elements in various projects, ensuring compliance with client requirements, design specifications, and local regulations. This role involves coordination between design, engineering, and construction teams to ensure the timely and cost-effective completion of projects while maintaining high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review architectural designs, drawings, and layouts for construction, interior fit-out, landscaping, and facility development projects.
- Translate client requirements into functional and aesthetically appealing designs.
- Ensure compliance with local authority codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Coordinate with structural, MEP, and landscaping teams to integrate designs effectively.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and consultants to ensure smooth project execution.
- Conduct site inspections to monitor architectural works, verify quality, and ensure adherence to design specifications.
- Manage design changes and variations, ensuring timely approvals and implementation.
- Provide technical guidance to construction teams regarding architectural aspects.
- Recommend appropriate materials, finishes, and fixtures based on project needs, aesthetics, and durability.
- Evaluate vendor and supplier proposals to ensure quality compliance and cost-effectiveness.
- Coordinate with the procurement team for timely delivery of architectural materials.
- Ensure architectural works comply with Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS), and other relevant local authority guidelines.
- Maintain high-quality standards in terms of finishing, detailing, and overall aesthetics.
- Identify potential risks and provide solutions to avoid delays and cost overruns.
- Prepare progress reports, design review summaries, and inspection reports for management and clients.
- Maintain updated documentation of architectural drawings, approvals, and revisions.
- Assist in preparing tender documents, BOQs, and technical proposals when required.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural Engineering or Architecture from a recognized institution.
- Master’s Degree is an advantage.
Experience
- 10 years of experience in architectural engineering, preferably within the construction.
- Experience in design, detailing, site supervision, and coordination.
