Canadian University Dubai (CUD) is seeking a highly qualified architecture graduate who aims at developing an academic career in Higher Education. RESPONSIBILITIES

Teaching Assistants support faculty members and enhance the educational experience for our diverse student body. The Teaching Assistant plays a vital role in the academic success and growth of our students by providing valuable assistance in a dynamic and multicultural university environment.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Collaborate closely with professors and instructors in the department to help plan and deliver effective course materials.
  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students by offering guidance, clarification, and assistance with course content, assignments, and academic projects.
  • Assist in grading assignments, exams, and other assessments, ensuring fairness and consistency in grading practices.
  • Attend lectures, labs, and tutorials to facilitate discussions, assist with demonstrations, and ensure a conducive learning environment.
  • Hold regular office hours to be available for student inquiries, offering additional opportunities for academic support.
  • Help students in the crafting of their models, in documenting, and archiving their projects, in liaison with the operations chairperson and laboratories’ technician.
  • Aid in the development and preparation of course materials, presentations, and multimedia resources for lectures.
  • Contribute to faculty research projects, literature reviews, data collection, and data analysis as required.
  • Help with administrative tasks such as record-keeping, scheduling, and maintaining course materials and resources.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students, helping them improve their understanding of course material and enhance their academic performance.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student engagement, critical thinking, and active participation.
  • Engage in professional development activities to stay current with educational practices and emerging technologies.
  • Ensure adherence to university policies and academic integrity standards in all aspects of your work..

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • Master’s degree in Architecture.

Additional Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino).
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Competence in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.).
  • Familiarity with laser cutting and 3D printing equipment.
  • Experience with physical and digital archiving systems.

With a faculty that contributes experience in practice and research in more than ten countries, the international make up of the School of Architecture and Interior Design at CUD is unique in the UAE.
