Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Art Teacher to inspire creativity and artistic expression in our students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in art education and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. This role involves developing engaging art curricula, teaching various art techniques, and mentoring students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.

Duties

  • Develop and implement comprehensive art curricula that align with educational standards and promote creativity.
  • Teach various art forms, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital media.
  • Utilize learning technology to enhance the educational experience and engage students in their artistic pursuits.
  • Manage classroom dynamics effectively to create a safe and productive learning environment.
  • Provide individualized support to students with special needs, including those on the autism spectrum.
  • Conduct assessments and standardized testing to evaluate student progress in art education.
  • Mentor students, encouraging their artistic growth while fostering self-confidence and critical thinking skills.
  • Collaborate with other educators to integrate art into broader educational themes, including literacy education and math concepts.
  • Maintain an organized classroom space that showcases student artwork and promotes an appreciation for the arts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Art Education or related field; teaching certification preferred.
  • Proven experience working with children in an educational setting, preferably with classroom experience in art instruction.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, and behavior management strategies.
  • Experience with early childhood education principles and childhood development theories is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Montessori methods or private school experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in proofreading and writing skills for creating instructional materials and reports.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs.

Job Types: Part-time, Internship

Pay: $25.27 - $30.43 per hour
