Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive art curricula aligned with educational standards and student needs
  • Prepare engaging lesson plans that incorporate various artistic techniques, mediums, and cultural perspectives
  • Deliver interactive art lessons to students of different ages, including early childhood education and preschool levels
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive, respectful learning environment
  • Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate students with special needs, including those with autism or requiring individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Assess student progress regularly through observations, projects, and formative assessments; provide constructive feedback
  • Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects, school events, and curriculum development initiatives
  • Maintain clear communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities
  • Uphold classroom management standards to ensure safety, organization, and a productive learning atmosphere
  • Incorporate literacy education, math integration, and Montessori principles where appropriate to enhance overall student development

Experience

  • Prior classroom experience in art education or related fields is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to develop curriculum content tailored to diverse learners across age groups
  • Experience working with children in early childhood or preschool settings is preferred
  • Knowledge of behavior management techniques and classroom management best practices
  • Familiarity with special education strategies, including working with individuals with autism or other developmental needs
  • Background in private school environments or similar educational settings is advantageous
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage students, parents, and colleagues in a collaborative manner
  • Experience in tutoring or individualized instruction that supports childhood development goals
