Artisan (Mechanic)

OUR EXPECTATIONS FROM THE ROLE:

• Inspect, repair, and maintain Mechanical equipment (e.g., hot water boilers, pumps, water features, solar water heating system)
• Test and record boiler, condenser, and open/closed loop systems water quality and take any necessary corrective action such as adding chemicals to prevent corrosion and harmful deposits
• Activate valves to maintain required amounts of water in boilers, to adjust supplies of combustion air, and to control the flow of fuel into burners
• Carry out minor Plumbing & Mechanical works for Mechanical systems & Equipment, as required
• Monitor and inspect Mechanical Plant/Equipment, switches, valves, gauges, alarms, safety devices, and meters to detect leaks
• Respond and attend to guest rooms repair requests.
• Understand and operate advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and heating systems.
• Check for new maintenance requests from the PMS (Property Management System) and update remarks once the task is completed.
• Update the maintenance work order form / Job card and file them.
• Ability to work under pressure situations and exercise good judgments.
• Preform maintenance activities in the guest room like plunging toilets, unclogging drains, repairing all types of hardware, electrical equipment including lamps, air conditioners / HVAC and AC ducts
• Program TV's and perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties.
• Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment.
• To operate as an independent mechanic by analyzing problems, identifying courses of action, and implementing solutions with available resources and to a high degree of quality.
• To monitor fire Alarm / Life Safety System systems as necessary, to be fully informed of the system operation and to handle emergencies involving the systems.
• Read and understand blueprints, schematic drawings, and technical parts breakdown.
• Carry out specific oral and written instructions.
• Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
• Maintains the hotel facility and related equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Engineering Supervisor / technical foreman Chief Engineer .
• Train and instruct other members of the staff through sharing of knowledge and skill or malfunctions, and to ensure that equipment is operating efficiently and safely.
• Make sure attending dune function and picnic setup as request.
• Repair and main 30 nos buggy cars and make sure safety devices are working good conditions.
• Maintenance and repairs of the 5 nos bore well pumps.
• Maintenance and repairs of the 3 nos RO plans ( coordinate with contractor and monitor the service stranded)
• Maintain engineering area is safe, kept clean and in an orderly manner. Keep close coordination with other engineering staff for smooth operation.
• Comply with hotel and corporate LSOP s and SOP s.
• Serve as an active member of hotel emergency response team.
• Carry out any requests asked of you by your immediate supervisor.
• Take active role in the TQM process.
• To ensure that you maintain a high level of hospitality and guest concern. Practice at all times Empowerment and do whatever it takes to satisfy the guest.
• Accident prevention and safety to be aware of all existing departmental job safety analysis and to strive to work in an accident free manner and to create a safe working environment for himself and for others.
