We are looking for a highly motivated Assistant Accountant to join our financial team for a permanent full-time position. This role is critical to supporting and coordinating all aspects of accounting operations and will be responsible for conducting high-level analysis of revenue, COGS and expenses. What you'll be working on:
- Manage and coordinate all aspects of daily accounting operations
- Maintain the General Ledger in compliance with established accounting policies and procedures
- Assist with the month-end closing process, ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Prepare and process billings in accordance with contractual terms
- Perform Balance Sheet reconciliations and trackers, identifying and resolving discrepancies
- Create periodically reports and coordinate with the operation team to correct errors
- Allocate transactions of different vendors to different programs accurately and ensure to use funds from the correct account for payments
- Implement process improvements and prepare documentation for newly implemented processes
- Assist in compiling monthly financial statements, monthly accounting schedules, conducted financial analysis on monthly statements, perform bank reconciliations
- Collaborate closely with the Senior Financial Accountant, and other senior members of the company
- Prepare ad hoc reporting and conduct analysis as assigned
Qualifications:
- Part/Fully Qualified Professional Accounting Qualification / Master’s degree in Accounting / Finance or related field.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience in a similar role
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting policies
- Proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas); familiarity with PowerBI preferred
- Ability to work with large datasets and produce accurate reports under deadlines.
- Proficiency in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills and time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Knowledge of multi-currency transactions is a plus
- Familiarity with GP an asset
