Assistant Accountant

Job Summary:

SMPC Industries is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to support the finance team in managing daily accounting operations. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in accounting principles and at least 3 years of relevant experience in bookkeeping, reconciliations, and supporting compliance functions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily accounting entries, journal postings, and general ledger updates.
• Prepare and process invoices, bills, vendor payments, and receipts.
• Support accounts payable and receivable functions with proper documentation.
• Handle bank reconciliation, vendor reconciliation, and petty cash management.
• Maintain accurate filing of vouchers, bills, and financial documents.
• Assist in GST, TDS, and statutory compliance tasks under the guidance of senior accountants.
• Provide necessary data and documentation for audits and financial reviews.
• Coordinate with vendors and customers for routine account-related queries.
• Support the finance team in preparing MIS and financial reports.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Education: B.Com / M.Com or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience as an Assistant Accountant or in a similar role.
• Technical Skills: Working knowledge of Tally ERP, MS Excel, and accounting software.
• Knowledge: Understanding of GST, TDS, payroll basics, and general accounting practices.
• Soft Skills: Attention to detail, time management, strong organizational skills, and ability to work in a team environment.
