Assistant Accountant (UAEN)

Overview:
We are looking for a highly organized and proactive UAE National (with Family Book) to join our team as a Junior Accountant to support the Finance function by coordinating with the Shared Service Centre (SSC) and the local Finance team. The role ensures accurate processing of accounting transactions, supports payables and month-end activities, and maintains compliance with company policies and reporting requirements.
Responsibilities:
  • Act as the primary liaison between the local Finance team and the SSC, monitoring transaction processing and following up on outstanding issues.
  • Support accounts payable processes and expense report reviews, ensuring proper documentation and accurate coding of invoices and expenses.
  • Follow up on pending approvals and resolve payment-related queries.
  • Assist with general ledger activities, including reconciliations and posting support.
  • Support month-end closing activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Coordinate with the SSC to resolve discrepancies, variances, and posting issues.
  • Prepare periodic financial reports for management review.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and organized filing of financial records.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and audit requirements.
  • Coordinate payment runs and ensure timely processing of vendor and other payments.
  • Monitor payment status and address related discrepancies.
  • Support internal and external audits by coordinating required documentation.
  • Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and coordination flow.
Qualifications:
  • UAE National with Family Book (mandatory)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of relevant accounting or finance experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and SAP or ERP
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
