Assistant Bar Manager

The Assistant Bar Manager supports the Bar Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the bar, ensuring exceptional guest service, maintaining high beverage quality standards, maximizing revenue, controlling costs, and leading the bar team. The role is responsible for ensuring compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and liquor licensing requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

  • Assist in managing the daily operations of all bar outlets.
  • Ensure efficient and smooth bar service during all operating hours.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation.
  • Monitor beverage preparation and service according to hotel standards.
  • Ensure all opening and closing procedures are completed correctly.
  • Resolve guest complaints professionally and promptly.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise bartenders, bar waiters, and support staff.
  • Conduct daily briefings and assign duties.
  • Train, coach, and motivate employees to deliver excellent service.
  • Monitor staff performance and recommend disciplinary or reward actions.
  • Prepare duty rosters and ensure adequate staffing levels.

Inventory & Cost Control

  • Monitor beverage stock levels and conduct regular inventory counts.
  • Assist in ordering beverages, supplies, and bar equipment.
  • Minimize wastage, breakage, and beverage losses.
  • Ensure proper storage and rotation of stock (FIFO).
  • Monitor beverage costs and support cost-control initiatives.

Financial Responsibilities

  • Support the Bar Manager in achieving revenue and profitability targets.
  • Promote upselling of beverages and premium products.
  • Monitor daily sales and prepare operational reports.
  • Ensure accurate billing and cash handling procedures.

Guest Service

  • Deliver exceptional guest experiences and personalized service.
  • Build positive relationships with regular guests.
  • Handle guest feedback promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure responsible alcohol service at all times.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with UAE Municipality regulations and hotel policies.
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.
  • Ensure compliance with liquor licensing laws.
  • Maintain a safe working environment for guests and employees.

Administration

  • Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
  • Maintain attendance and leave records for bar employees.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing, Stores, Kitchen, and Finance departments.
  • Support promotional events and beverage menu updates.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field.
  • WSET, bartending certification, or beverage-related certification is an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in hotel bar operations.
  • At least 1–2 years in a supervisory or assistant management role.
  • Experience in a 4-star or 5-star hotel is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Knowledge of wines, spirits, cocktails, beers, and beverage trends.
  • Inventory management and cost control skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in POS systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED4,000.00 per month
