We're seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Branch Manager to join our Silvis, Illinois team. As an Assistant Branch Manager, you will play a crucial role mentoring the team, overseeing successful branch operations, giving educated guidance and providing exceptional service to our members every step of the way.
Summary of Position:
Alongside the Branch Manager, the assistant will also be the champion of the branch and lead by example. The Assistant Branch Manager will assume responsibilities of Branch Manager in their absence. Main daily responsibilities include the supervision of branch staff and operations, including but not limited to: vault and teller duties, assist with scheduling and time card/PTO approvals, and serving as a back-up to the lending staff. The Assistant Branch Manager must understand, adhere to, and communicate to staff all policies, procedures, and service requirements for member accounts and transactions.
This position will have heavy interaction with members and team members. The expectation is that the Assistant Branch Manager can successfully handle a variety of member and team member situations with professionalism, integrity and confidentiality. The varieties of situations that will be encountered are very broad and require the ability to identify the appropriate resources and to execute the best possible solution. This position helps develop staff and works to ensure that they feel informed about the policies, procedures and other relevant work topics. Consistent one on one and observation coaching are expectations in this position, with the ability to motivate and energize team members from these interactions.
This Assistant Branch Manager is expected to make sound decisions and keep the balance between exceptional service and the overall reputation of the organization in mind. Decisions on member accounts such as fee refunds, new accounts, check cashing, etc. will be made daily. There will also be decision making ability in regards to staff management.
The successful candidate will need the following skills/qualifications:

High School Diploma, or equivalent.

Management and/or financial services industry experience.

CUNA FICEP/CCUFC designation to be achieved within first year of position

Strong history of proven relationship building performance.

Proven success in Business Development, cultivating and deepening current relationships while establishing new business client base.

Strong leadership skills with a professional attitude and ability to motivate and coach the team.

Thorough knowledge of relationship building, product and services; ensures appropriate application of the credit union's policies and procedures.

Ability to plan, organize, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures, and coordinate multiple projects.

Interpersonal skills to represent the credit union in a positive way, both internally and externally at all times.

What are some of the day-to-day responsibilities of a Branch Supervisor?

Making sure the branch operations are running smoothly such as: vault/cash drawer balancing, coin counter, cash advance machines, check scanner, debit card machine, etc.

Develop Tellers and work to ensure that they feel informed about the policies, procedures and other relevant topics.

Consistent one on one and observation coaching, along with motivating and energizing the team to be successful.

Productively manage multiple tasks/projects at once and being adaptable within a fast-paced environment.

Identify where presence is needed for successful branch operation without direction, transitioning seamlessly between branch duties as traffic and team demand dictates. Ability to prioritize and effectively manage time/tasks is crucial.

Support branch operations by exhibiting knowledge of opening deposit accounts, servicing members with existing accounts, processing financial transactions, interviewing loan applicants, processing documents, and resolving complex member account matters.

Seek out opportunities to enhance IHMVCU presence in the community by developing relationships with organizations within the community the branch is located in. Encourage and support branch staff involvement in local organizations and community events.

Assist in preparing and delivering team member evaluations, reviews, disciplinary actions.

Be familiar with technology and quickly adapt to new equipment and programs. Supports IHMVCU's focus on remote services and be knowledgeable about the services we offer. Maintains focus on this and coaches the team for results in this area.

The pay range for this position is $19.00-$24.00/hour. Final compensation for this position will be determined by various factors such as relevant work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, certifications and internal pay equity.
