Assistant Buyer

Jockey is seeking an Assistant Buyer to join our Merchandising team!

JOB SUMMARY

The Assistant Buyer is responsible for supporting the Buyer in developing consumer focused strategies, curating relevant assortments and collaborating with cross-functional teams to create and execute merchandising strategies for Jockey retail and e-commerce channels.

JOB EXPECTATIONS

  • Assist the Buyer in building and managing seasonal assortments and driving retail strategy across Direct to Consumer (DTC) channels of distribution.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including planners, channel marketing, store visual, site merchandising, data science and various other partners as needed to ensure alignment and support of business priorities.
  • Support collaboration with the Direct to Consumer planning team by building and sharing assortment plans for all department categories at the appropriate channel level.
  • Conduct analysis at category, style, color and silhouette level to identify and communicate opportunities and trends with business partners.
    Partner with the Buyer to own and maintain the seasonal fixture plan and planogram.
  • Regularly shop the competition to understand opportunities, competitive price points and trends in order to identify sales opportunities and risks.
    Consistently monitor product returns and reviews to interpret and strategically leverage consumer insights.
  • Coordinate with store, training and marketing teams to maintain accurate in-store execution of product assortments along with training tools to support store associate knowledge.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-2 years of related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in merchandising, business, marketing or related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Proficient understanding of Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel.
  • Must be results-oriented with a customer focus.
  • Detail oriented with strong collaboration, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated passion for products with an understanding of the business.
  • Ability to manage priorities, goals and objectives.
