Job Summary:

The Assistant Chef supports the Head Chef and kitchen team in preparing, cooking, and presenting food efficiently and to high standards. The role involves maintaining kitchen hygiene, assisting with menu preparation, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations in the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes under the supervision of senior chefs.
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared according to standard recipes and presentation guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen at all times.
  • Support in inventory management — check stock levels, label and store ingredients properly.
  • Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP standards).
  • Assist in menu planning and daily specials when required.
  • Prepare mise en place (ingredients and setup) before service hours.
  • Coordinate with service staff for smooth kitchen operations.
  • Learn and adapt to new recipes, techniques, and presentation styles.
  • Report any equipment malfunction or shortage of supplies to the Head Chef.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts or equivalent.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a professional kitchen (restaurant, café, or hotel).
  • Strong knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food preparation.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Awareness of kitchen hygiene and food safety standards.

Work Conditions:

  • Shifts may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Long hours standing in a hot kitchen environment.
  • Fast-paced and team-oriented atmosphere.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to AED2,500.00 per month
