Job Title: Assistant Construction Director

Department: Project Management / Construction
Reporting To: Construction Director

Job Purpose:
The Assistant Construction Director supports the Construction Director in managing and overseeing multiple construction projects, ensuring timely completion, cost control, quality compliance, and safety standards. The role involves supervising project teams, coordinating between departments, and ensuring smooth execution of project strategies across all sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Construction Director in planning, organizing, and directing all construction activities.
  • Supervise and guide Project Managers, Engineers, and site teams to ensure project targets are achieved.
  • Review construction schedules, budgets, and manpower plans to ensure alignment with overall project objectives.
  • Monitor site progress and performance, identifying delays or risks and recommending corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards across all projects.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve technical or contractual issues.
  • Review and support the preparation of project reports, progress updates, and presentations for senior management.
  • Participate in meetings with management, clients, and stakeholders to discuss project status and challenges.
  • Support the Construction Director in resource allocation, cost management, and strategic decision-making.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of construction policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Act on behalf of the Construction Director when delegated to ensure project continuity and leadership.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 12–15 years of experience in construction management, with at least 3–5 years in a senior supervisory role.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong leadership, planning, and communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of project planning, scheduling, and construction methodologies.
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent problem-solving and team coordination abilities.
  • PMP or equivalent certification is an added advantage.
