We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our finance team. <Duties>
- Lead the preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), and other regulatory requirements.
- Manage the general ledger accounting process, including account reconciliations and journal entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to maintain optimal cash flow and vendor relationships.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations regularly to verify asset, liability, and equity account balances.
- Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and assist with internal audits related to financial processes.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities to inform organizational planning.
- Maintain expertise in technical accounting issues such as non-profit accounting, governmental accounting, and complex revenue recognition.
- Manage payroll processing using various accounting software like QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms.
- Prepare regulatory reports and assist with external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial systems, automate workflows, and enhance reporting accuracy.
<Qualifications>
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Proven experience in corporate accounting, public accounting, or governmental finance roles.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance standards, and non-profit accounting principles.
- Demonstrated expertise in financial report writing and analysis for diverse organizational needs.
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar tools; experience with financial management systems is essential.
- Excellent understanding of technical accounting concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, account reconciliation, and general ledger management.
- Ability to perform detailed balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis accurately under tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills combined with sound financial acumen; capable of forecasting and budgeting effectively.
