The Carroll County Attorney’s Office has an immediate opening for an Assistant County Attorney. The successful candidate will possess a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and be a member in good standing of the New Hampshire Bar Association. Three to five years’ experience as a criminal trial attorney with at least one year of other legal experience, and an in-depth knowledge of principles and rules of law, rules of evidence and the New Hampshire criminal justice system.

This position will act as trial counsel in actions brought for, or against the county and handle all aspects of the investigation, preparation and prosecution of matters within the statutory and common law jurisdiction of the County Attorney. The individual in this position researches pertinent case law, drafts indictments, complaints and pleadings, and further presents investigations and cases to the Grand Jury, conducts Bench trials, jury trials, and all required hearings related to their assigned caseload. They will maintain a collaborative working relationship with victim/witness coordinators to ensure that all victims and witnesses are properly informed, prepared, and supported through the prosecution process.
