Job Description
The Assistant Director focuses on cultivating new professional and "Friends" groups under the WCAA alumnae group model, focused on a staff-led, volunteer-run framework. This Assistant Director supports the Senior Director of Alumnae Engagement to draft strategic guidance for alumnae volunteer groups and serves as the office lead for volunteer and alumnae communications, acting as the primary office liaison to Communications and Public Affairs (C&PA). As a member of the WCAA team, this position will support Reunion and other event execution and planning as needed.
Primary Position Responsibilities:
Group Cultivation & Strategic Growth: Focus on cultivating and building new professional, interest, and "Friends" groups (and associated volunteer structures) to expand alumnae engagement in new markets and alumnae interest areas.
SIG Engagement & Guidance: Provide strategic partnership and lead volunteer support for Shared Identity Group (SIG) volunteers and programming (including Wellesley Alumnae of African Descent, Wellesley Asian Alumnae Alliance, Wellesley Latina Alumnae Network, Wellesley Jewish Alumnae, Wellesley Muslim Alumnae, and Wellesley Alum Pride Alliance).
Communications Liaison: Partner with Communications and Public Affairs department to draft and coordinate strategic alumnae communications content with the Alumnae Engagement team (e.g., Top 5 on the Fifth monthly volunteer newsletter, Sed Mini all-alum newsletter).
Campus Partner Coordination: Support Senior Director of Alumnae Engagement to proactively coordinate with campus stakeholders to align group programming with institutional priorities, and identify areas for collaboration.
In-person event support: Assist the WCAA team at in-person events including Reunion weekend, Family and Friends Weekend (and Alumnae Achievement Awards), True Blue To Do initiatives (Stepsinging, Hoop Rolling, Lake Day, etc) and other in-person and virtual event assistance as required.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years relevant experience required
Experience creating, building, communicating and measuring new initiatives.
Wellesley alum preferred.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team within a culturally diverse environment
Excellent interpersonal skills, written & oral communication skills
Ability to set and measure objectives and adjust work based on results.
Ability to liaise with key campus partners
High degree of flexibility and adaptability.

Ability to work with a wide range of alumnae identities and perspectives and long-range institutional objectives
Comfort with a range of technology systems including Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, and Zoom.
Salesforce/Affinaquest and Hivebrite experience preferred.
Familiarity with Canva and basic graphic design skills
Flexibility & Schedule We value a collaborative hybrid environment. Our standard schedule includes three days on campus to connect with the team, with two days of remote work. Wednesdays are required in-office days for the entire team.
Salary:
The pay range for this role is $59,000 - $67,000
