Role Summary

The Assistant Finance Manager supports the Senior Finance Manager in managing GMG’s corporate financial operations. This includes budgeting, financial reporting, accounts management, and compliance. The role involves supervising finance teams in South Asia and Egypt, ensuring accurate documentation, cost control, and audit readiness. The incumbent will also drive improvements in financial systems and performance monitoring.


Key Success Drivers: Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Team Supervision: Lead finance teams in South Asia and Egypt, ensuring effective delegation and alignment with corporate goals.
  • Accounts Payable Management: Oversee AP processes for timely payments, reconciliations, and financial control adherence.
  • Financial Reporting & Closing: Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings; prepare reports and variance analyses.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in developing budgets and forecasts with business units and senior management.
  • Compliance & Audit: Ensure adherence to IFRS/GAAP and GMG policies; coordinate with auditors.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze cost trends and performance to support strategic decisions.
  • Documentation & Controls: Maintain accurate financial records and enhance internal controls.
  • ERP & Financial Systems: Utilize ERP systems (preferably SAP) for data management and automation.
  • Process Optimization: Identify and implement workflow improvements.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with procurement, HR, and other teams to resolve discrepancies.
  • COUPA Invoice Management: Oversee COUPA invoice approvals for SEA retail operations.


Job Requirements

Educational Qualifications

  • ACCA or CA certification (mandatory)
  • A Master’s Degree in Finance or Business Administration is an added advantage

Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
  • At least 3 years in a supervisory role, preferably managing offshore teams
  • Experience in retail, distribution, or multinational environments is desirable

Certifications

  • ERP-specific certifications (e.g., SAP FI) are advantageous


Functional/Technical Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and financial reporting
  • Proficiency in SAP and advanced Excel
  • Skilled in budgeting, forecasting, and analysis
  • Strong leadership and multitasking abilities
  • Sound understanding of internal controls and compliance
