Job Family Description
Legal roles provide legal advice and services on issues concerning the rights, obligations, and privileges of the organization. They examine legal data to determine advisability of defending or prosecuting lawsuits and stay updated on relevant laws and regulations to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
Discipline Description
Attorneys provide legal advice and services in a specialty or multiple specialties of legal practices. They represent the organization to customers, suppliers, competitors, and government agencies. They provide resolution of business or technical issues by identifying legal solutions and recommending a course of action.
Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include:- 10-15 years' experience with federal Procurement and Prime Contract Administration including litigation experience.
- Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Department of Energy Regulations (DEAR), DOE/NNSA Orders/Policies including mission priorities and programs, and fiscal law.
- Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills and ability to thoroughly analyze complex information to provide guidance for situation where there is no clear precedent.
- Ability to develop policies and procedures which ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations and position the company and DOE/NNSA for highest success.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across departments, with the executive team, NNSA/DOE customer, and company suppliers to grow relationships as necessary to ensure adequate program strategy and implementation.
- Excellent written and oral communication and persuasion skills evidenced through provision of clear, comprehensive and well supported legal guidance which supports achievement of management objectives.
- Must possess a Juris Doctor from an American Bar Association accredited law school.
- Must have an active license to practice law from a state or the District of Columbia and be recognized as a member in good standing of such state/DC.

Security Clearance Information
SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance.
