Salary: $175,000 – $240,000/yr

We are seeking an experienced Assistant General Counsel (AGC) to join our Legal Department and provide comprehensive legal support across all areas of hospital and long-term care operations.

In this role, you will,

• Provide strategic legal advice and day-to-day counsel to senior leadership and the medical board on complex healthcare, regulatory, and operational matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including commercial, physician employment, clinical, and supply-chain contracts.
• Support multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with federal and state healthcare laws, regulations, and internal policies.
• Assist with legal issues relating to hospital operations, long-term care, governance, and risk mitigation.

We require:

• Juris Doctor (JD) or LLM, with admission to the New York State Bar (required).
• Minimum 7 years of relevant legal experience, preferably within healthcare, hospital, or public-sector environments.
• Strong background in contracts, regulatory compliance, and healthcare law.
• Excellent analytical, drafting, and communication skills.
• Prior in-house counsel experience within a healthcare system.
• Familiarity with New York State public-sector law, including FOIL compliance.
