Position Summary
The Assistant Housekeeping Manager supports the Housekeeping team in overseeing daily housekeeping operations to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, guest satisfaction, and staff performance. This role ensures all rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas meet 5-star hotel standards while maintaining efficient operations and cost control. (Immediate joiners highly recommended)
Key Responsibilities1. Daily Operations
- Supervise housekeeping staff, room attendants, and public area cleaners.
- Monitor daily room cleaning, turn-down service, and special request tasks.
- Conduct regular room inspections to maintain quality and consistency.
- Ensure VIP rooms are prepared according to hotel standards.
2. Staff Management & Training
- Assist in staff scheduling based on occupancy and business needs.
- Train new employees on hotel cleaning procedures, chemical usage, and SOPs.
- Conduct daily briefings and communicate hotel updates.
- Support performance evaluations and implement improvement plans when required.
3. Guest Service
- Handle guest requests and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Maintain excellent guest satisfaction scores by ensuring service excellence.
- Coordinate closely with the Front Office regarding room status and priorities.
4. Inventory & Cost Control
- Assist in controlling usage of linen, amenities, chemicals, and equipment.
- Maintain accurate stock records and request supplies as needed.
- Implement cost-efficient cleaning procedures without compromising quality.
5. Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with UAE hygiene and hotel safety standards.
- Maintain records for municipality inspections and internal audits.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and safe handling of chemicals.
6. Administration
- Prepare daily reports, job assignments, and inspection checklists.
- Assist with lost-and-found procedures.
- Support preparation of monthly statistics and housekeeping KPIs.
Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 1–3 years of supervisory experience in housekeeping, preferably in a 4* or 5* hotel.
- Strong knowledge of housekeeping SOPs, chemical handling, and cleaning equipment.
- Experience with PMS systems (Opera) is an advantage.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-management skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good English communication skills; additional languages are a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift or move moderate weights (linen bags, equipment).
Work Environment
- Shifts may include weekends, public holidays, and high-occupancy periods.
- Interaction with guests, staff, and other departments on a daily basis.
