Water Lily Learning Center - OTR is a Gold-rated Step Up to Quality program in Cincinnati's Over-the-Rhine neighborhood. We provide high-quality, responsive infant care using the Creative Curriculum for Infants, Toddlers and Twos. Our OTR team is passionate, collaborative, and committed to giving every child the strongest possible start.
Position Summary
The Assistant Infant Teacher - OTR works directly alongside our Lead Infant Teacher to provide safe, consistent, and nurturing care for infants ages 6 weeks to 12 months at our OTR campus. This is the right role for someone with a genuine heart for infant care, a dependable work ethic, and a desire to grow within a Gold-rated early childhood program.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Lead Teacher in implementing Creative Curriculum routines and individualized infant care plans
- Provide attentive, responsive, hands-on care including feeding, diapering, soothing, and supporting infant development
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized infant classroom following all Ohio DCY health and sanitation standards
- Actively supervise infants at all times during activities, tummy time, rest, meals, and transitions
- Assist with daily documentation of infant routines, feedings, and developmental notes using Brightwheel
- Communicate warmly and professionally with OTR families during drop-off and pick-up
- Prepare classroom materials and assist with room setup and lesson prep under Lead Teacher direction
- Follow all Water Lily Learning Center policies and Step Up to Quality Gold classroom standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; CDA, ECE coursework, or Associate degree preferred
- Prior experience in a licensed childcare setting with infants strongly preferred
- Current CPR and First Aid certification required prior to working with children
- Genuine warmth, patience, and attentiveness with infants and their families
- Ability to work on your feet, lift up to 40 lbs, and perform floor-level caregiving throughout the shift
- Reliable and punctual with a strong commitment to ratio coverage
- Must meet all Ohio DCY employment eligibility requirements including applicable clearances
Schedule and Compensation
- Full-time, Monday through Friday
- $15-$17/hr based on experience and qualifications
