The position

Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan (AKHS, P), a leading not-for-profit healthcare organization, is seeking dynamic and result-oriented professionals for the position of Assistant Manager, Community Health at its Regional Office, Hyderabad in Sindh Region.

Position Summary:
The Assistant Manager, Community Health will support the Lead, South Community Program in overseeing the implementation, coordination, and monitoring of community health programs across Sindh. The position plays a key role in ensuring operational excellence, quality assurance, stakeholder engagement, and program expansion aligned with AKHS’s mission and strategic goals.

The incumbent will serve as a bridge between the regional teams, health centers, and central departments (Finance, HR, Procurement, Communication, IT), ensuring that community health services are efficient, patient-centered, and sustainable.

Key Responsibilities:
Program Coordination: Support the Lead, South Community Program in managing and monitoring community health initiatives to ensure timely achievement of targets and outcomes.
Operational Support: Facilitate coordination among cross-functional teams including HR, Finance, Facilities, and IT for smooth day-to-day operations.
Quality Assurance & Compliance: Implement quality protocols, infection control, and clinical standards; monitor compliance and report deviations or malpractice.
Healthcare Expansion: Identify new opportunities for service growth, partnerships, and pilot initiatives to strengthen community outreach.
Team & Stakeholder Management: Build and sustain relationships with local partners, community leaders, and health staff; motivate and guide teams toward continuous performance improvement.
Data & Reporting: Ensure accurate data collection, analysis, and timely reporting for evidence-based decision-making and audit compliance.
Financial Management: Assist in regional budgeting, cost control, and efficient resource utilization.
Environmental Responsibility: Identify operational areas impacting the environment and implement measures aligned with AKHS’s net-zero carbon operations by 2030 goal.
Key Milestones in the First Six Months
All community health centers meet or exceed quality assurance benchmarks.
Doctors and staff demonstrate consistent adherence to clinical and ethical guidelines.
Program data is accurate, timely, and supports smarter decision-making.
At least one new healthcare partnership or service expansion is initiated.
Resource utilization shows measurable improvement and cost efficiency.
Clear steps are underway toward reducing environmental impact.

The requirements

Qualification & Experience
MBBS, BScN, or master’s degree in public health, Public Policy, Development, Management or Social Science (or a relevant bachelor’s degree with strong healthcare operations experience).
Minimum 3 years of experience in healthcare operations, preferably in NGOs, public health programs, or hospital management.
Demonstrated skills in program coordination, stakeholder engagement, and performance monitoring.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data management capabilities.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
High integrity, professionalism, and adaptability in dynamic settings.
