The Assistant Manager, Events & Group Sales is responsible for driving group and event business to the hotel by managing client relationships, coordinating event requirements, and maximizing revenue opportunities. The role involves prospecting, contracting, planning, and servicing events and group bookings while ensuring the highest level of guest satisfaction and alignment with the hotel s service standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
EXTERNAL DUTIES br> Is responsible for managing, consulting, personalizing, arranging, and executing the events for all Events customers.br>; Responsible for identifying with a customer the total event service process and needs.br>; To ensure that all customers are given a consistent high level of service throughout each event.br>; Conducts in-house site inspection for all potential clients and event/group accounts, adhering to SOPbr> Mains active business relationships with existing customer database and ensures new and repeat business to support revenue goals.br>; Ensures that all lead requests are handled as per the policy and not exceeding the lead handling timeframe policy.br>; Strong liaison with clients to ascertain their precise event requirements.br>; Ensures active follow-up on sent offers as per guest requirements, including payment/cancellation policy.
INTERNAL DUTIES br> Executes all hotel events with a seamless turnover, from banquet and F&B service Managers, and through to post-event follow-up. br> Coordinate with Revenue Manager for rates and availability, agreed terms and conditions in order to be able to contract.br>; Oversees day-to-day sales efforts of the Conference and Events department with specific responsibilities for directing sales, training, and maintaining systems in view of achieving the departmental and hotel targets.br>; Ensures that all department heads are informed of significant groups that will impact the Hotel's operations.br>; Continue to review procedures and processes within the department to maximize profit (department revenue), increase productivity, and improve efficiency with the operations team.br>; Mains complete knowledge of and complies with all hotel/ departmental policies and procedures.br>; Prepares and distributes the weekly Event and Group Tracker/ forecast, identifying covers and sales by meal periods.
Experience & Educational Requirements
Bachelor s degree in Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).br> Min. 2 years in Sales in a luxury 5-star hotel br> Relevant Sales Training in SFAbr> Sales & Negotiation Training on Success Factorsbr> Sales Force Trainingbr> Opera Sales and Catering Trainingbr> Middle East Experience desirablebr> Basic level - Microsoft Office applicationsbr> High level of written and verbal business Englishbr> Proven results in a Sales rolebr> Interpersonal skillsbr> Customer service orientedbr> Attention to detail.br>; Organizational abilitybr> Problem Solving and Decision Makingbr> Influence & Negotiationbr> Ability to prioritize tasks.br>; Problem solving and decision making.br>; Leadership skillsbr> Highly organized and proactivebr> Initiative and Commitment to Achievebr> Effective Communicationbr> Customer focused
