Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the accounts payable, monthly, quarterly and annual closing activity with related financial reporting and coordinating external audit of AKU.
  • The candidate will be responsible to:
  • Responsible for timely payment to various suppliers, vendors, contractor and service providers of AKU and AKHMCF.
  • Responsible for timely advances adjustments given to vendors for goods and supplies and also staff advances provided for various activities.
  • Accurate recording of expenses as per the University policy and compliance with local laws and granting agencies requirements.
  • Develop and consolidate external audit plan.
  • Coordinate with external auditors of AKU Pakistan to perform the field audit and finalisation of consolidated Financial Statements of AKU.
  • Coordinate with UK, EA, USA Finance team to finalise their audit and submission of Statutory and Management reports for consolidation.
  • Prepare Audit Committee documents related to Annual External Audit.
  • Supervise the advances adjustments, prepaid adjustments through account payable system.
  • Supervise various closing JVs including accrual, advances, prepaid, recording of various expenses like transport, utility, food service through GL system.
  • Monitoring of all assets and liabilities schedules on monthly basis in order to guide for proper adjustment of advances and recording of expenses on time.
  • Recording of Cost allocation and central support cost and debits notes to respective entities.
  • Quarterly donation and cost allocation working for University’s accounts.
  • Prepare adhoc and monthly reports as per team and user requirements.
  • Identify the weaknesses of staff and recommend relevant trainings to supervisors.
  • Develop a staff rotation plan to ensure that staff is trained in multiple areas of the section.

Requirements:

  • CA / CMA / ACCA / CA Finalist
  • A minimum of 2 years working experience in a management position.
  • Have sound knowledge of overall financial systems, accounting standards and Pakistan withholding tax laws.
  • Strong communication and report writing skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop team members to work towards achieving the set goals and objectives.
  • Excellence at carrying out data analysis.
  • Strong command on MS Excel and MS Word.
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments and meet strict deadlines.
