Assistant Manager Internal Audit

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:


As an Assistant Manager – Internal Audit, you will be responsible for supporting the planning, execution, and reporting of audit assignments across the organization’s business units. Also, you will evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of financial, operational, and compliance controls, identify areas for improvement, and ensure that all audits are delivered to high quality and within agreed timelines.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Audit Planning, Fieldwork & Reporting

  • Support in conducting risk assessments and developing the annual internal audit plan.
  • Plan and scope audits, defining objectives, timelines, and required resources.
  • Execute audit fieldwork, including process walkthroughs, control testing, data analysis, and substantive testing.
  • Assess the design and effectiveness of internal controls, ensuring compliance with company policies, laws, and regulations.


Team Leadership & Development

  • Supervise and mentor junior auditors, reviewing workpapers for accuracy and compliance with internal audit standards.
  • Provide on-the-job training, constructive feedback, and technical guidance.
  • Promote a culture of quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the audit team.


Special Assignments & Investigations

  • Conduct ad hoc audits, special reviews, and investigations as directed by senior management.
  • Utilize data analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or other audit analytics software) to enhance audit testing and insights.
  • Identify and monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) through exception reporting and trend analysis.


QUALIFICATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification preferred: CA, CIA, ACCA, CPA, CFE , or equivalent.


EXPERIENCE

  • 5 – 8+ years of core Internal Audit experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Proven experience conducting financial, compliance, and operational audits; exposure to industries such as Retail, FMCG, Food & Beverage, Hospitality, or Supply Chain is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of risk management, internal control frameworks, accounting standards, and UAE regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in Excel, ERP systems (SAP / Oracle), and audit/data analytics tools.
