Assistant Manager - IT Networks
Job Description:
The responsibilities of the Asst. Manager- IT Networks includes following but are not limited to these:
- Network Design and Implementation: Design, configure, and deploy network infrastructure using Cisco & Mikrotik equipment, including access, distribution, and core network layers. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and ensure network solutions meet organizational needs
- Firewall Management: Configure, monitor, and maintain the Fortigate / Sophos / Sangfor / Kerio firewall to enforce network security policies. Regularly update firewall rules, perform security audits, and troubleshoot any firewall-related issues
- Network Monitoring and Optimization: Utilize network monitoring tools such as NMS (Network Management System), Log Analyzer, and Room Alert to proactively monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize network resources. Conduct regular performance analysis and implement necessary adjustments to ensure optimal network operation
- Configuration Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, including IP addressing, VLANs, and routing protocols. Implement configuration changes following established change management processes and maintain configuration backups
- Network Security: Implement and manage network security measures, including access controls, intrusion detection systems, and firewalls to protect against unauthorized access and potential security threats. Stay updated with the latest security vulnerabilities and apply patches and updates as required
- Data Center Management: Manage network infrastructure in the data center, including room alert systems, power distribution units (PDUs), and environmental monitoring. Ensure the availability and proper functioning of network equipment in the data center
- Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve network-related issues, including connectivity problems, performance degradation, and security incidents. Utilize diagnostic tools and methodologies to troubleshoot and escalate issues to vendors or higher-level support when necessary
- Vendor Management: Engage with network equipment vendors, including Cisco and Firewall and Other iSPs to maintain vendor relationships, handle equipment warranties, and coordinate hardware replacements or repairs
- IP NVR Management: Administer and maintain the Hikvision IP NVR system, including configuration, firmware updates, and support. Collaborate with the Security team to ensure smooth integration of NVR networks
- User Support and Training: Provide technical support and guidance to end-users regarding network-related queries, issues, and connectivity problems. Conduct training sessions to educate users on network best practices, security awareness, and the proper use of network resources
- Installation/Maintenance of routers, switches, wireless access points / radios, and other network equipment on towers and customer premises
- Complete wireless installations/service calls/site surveys as assigned on a daily basis
- Network Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and inventory. Generate regular reports on network performance, security incidents, and capacity planning
- Continuous Learning and Professional Development: Stay updated with emerging networking technologies, industry trends, and best practices through continuous learning, certifications, and participation in relevant training programs or conferences
Experience:
- At least 7 to 10 years of experience required against the above requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology from any HEC recognized University
- Strong Troubleshooting, Designing and Implementation experience
- Clear concepts and hands-on experience on Core Networks Routing, Switching & Firewalling
- Relevant certifications would be preferred
