Assistant Manager / Manager – Purchase & Vendor Development

Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive professional to join our Purchase & Supply Chain team. The ideal candidate will manage procurement operations, supplier development, and inventory planning to support production efficiency and cost optimization in a fast-paced automotive environment.

Responsibilities:

Procure raw materials, components, consumables, and services as per production needs

Identify and onboard reliable suppliers; negotiate pricing, delivery, and payment terms

Maintain optimal inventory levels in coordination with production planning

Develop alternate sourcing and localization strategies to reduce import dependency

Conduct supplier audits for quality, capacity, and compliance evaluation

Monitor vendor performance (QCD) and drive continuous improvement

Collaborate with R&D, Quality, and Production teams for new component development

Ensure supplier adherence to APQP, PPAP, IATF 16949, and ISO 9001 standards

Lead VA/VE initiatives and cost benchmarking for procurement savings

Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, and supplier documentation

Track and report procurement KPIs to management regularly

Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of automotive components and vendor ecosystem

Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and analytical capabilities

Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, IATF 16949, and ISO 9001 standards

Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Proficiency in ERP/SAP systems and MS Office tools

Qualifications & Experience:

B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Automobile, Production, or Industrial Engineering

MBA in Supply Chain / Operations (preferred)

6 to 12 years of relevant experience in automotive procurement and supplier management

Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
