Position: Assistant Manager – Open Finance APIs Development

Job Purpose

The AVP – Open Finance Platforms Engineering will be responsible for leading the design, development, and management of the Bank’s Open Finance and API platforms. This role will ensure robust, secure, and scalable digital platforms to enable open banking initiatives, foster innovation, and strengthen ecosystem partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Leadership

• Drive the strategic roadmap for Open Finance and API platforms in alignment with the bank’s digital transformation agenda.
• Provide technical leadership in adopting emerging technologies, ensuring scalability, reliability, and compliance with regulatory frameworks.
• Manage a team of engineers, architects, and developers, fostering a culture of innovation, agility, and accountability.

Engineering & Development

• Lead end-to-end engineering for Open Finance platforms, including architecture design, platform development, API management, and integration.
• Oversee the design and deployment of microservices, APIs, and cloud-native solutions to ensure secure, seamless interoperability across internal and external ecosystems.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., PSD2, ISO 20022, OAuth2, OpenID Connect) and cybersecurity best practices.

Collaboration & Delivery

• Partner with business, product, and compliance teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Engage with external fintechs, partners, and regulators to strengthen open banking adoption and digital partnerships.
• Drive Agile/DevOps practices to accelerate delivery, ensure continuous integration, testing, and deployment.

Governance & Risk Management

• Ensure all activities comply with IT governance policies, regulatory requirements, and risk management frameworks.
• Establish monitoring, observability, and resilience mechanisms for high availability of platforms.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in digital banking, API platforms, or financial services technology, with at least 4+ years in a leadership role.
• Strong expertise in Open Banking/Open Finance standards, API lifecycle management, microservices, and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience with API gateways, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), DevSecOps, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Proven track record in managing large-scale digital transformation and platform engineering projects.
