Assistant Manager Operational Excellence

Job Purpose
To drive NFL’s commitment to continuous improvement and lean production practise across the manufacturing plants by identifying, designing, and implementing initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and adhere to company objectives and regulatory standards
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Implement practices of lean management methodologies across the manufacturing plant, ensuring they become an integral part of the manufacturing department's culture
Define and document current processes of the plant, reporting to the Operational Excellence Manager to devise actionable strategies for future enhancement
Manage process improvement projects, ensuring they align with the timeframes, manpower requirements, and budgets set by the Operational Excellence Manager
Initiate, develop, and execute continuous improvement projects aimed at optimising processes and bolstering operational efficiency
Assist the Process Engineer by conducting a detailed analysis of issues, recommending solutions underpinned by gathered metrics
Assess the skill set of staff at the plant, and design tailored training sessions on industry best practices. Conduct engaging, hands-on interactive sessions to immerse staff in the best operational practices and lean management methodologies
Facilitate and lead further training sessions, ensuring plant staff are well-equipped with the necessary knowledge
Utilise established feedback loops to gather insights from training sessions, implementing the feedback into future sessions
Conduct post-training evaluations to assess the effectiveness of the sessions, reinforcing topics to guarantee long-term retention amongst staff
Maintain transparent communications and consistent follow-ups with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring projects are implemented in a timely and efficient manner
Analyse system deficiencies, liaising with the Plant Manager to recommend and implement changes for enhanced performance
Keep updated on the latest developments in operational excellence to ensure NFL adopts best practices consistently
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s/ Masters degree in relevant discipline with 4-6 years of experience
