Assistant Manager Operations

Lahore, Pakistan

The Assistant Manager Operations will support the efficient running of day-to-day trucking operations while actively driving business growth through client acquisition, load bookings, and relationship management. This role bridges operational execution and sales strategy, ensuring high service levels, fleet utilization, and revenue generation.

Key Responsibilities Operations Management

  • Oversee daily dispatching, trip scheduling, and load allocation to ensure timely and efficient fleet operations.
  • Monitor vehicle movement, trip status, and delivery performance, proactively resolving operational issues (delays, breakdowns, route changes, etc.).
  • Coordinate with the control room, drivers, and customers to ensure service commitments are met.
  • Maintain compliance with company SOPs, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Track and report KPIs such as on-time deliveries, fleet utilization, trip completion, and cost per trip.

Sales & Business Development

  • Source and secure freight loads from direct customers, brokers, and load boards (e.g., DAT, Truckstop, local freight exchanges).
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring repeat business and long-term partnerships.
  • Prepare and present freight quotations, negotiate rates, and close deals in line with company targets.
  • Identify new business opportunities within FTL, LTL, and contract logistics services.
  • Support in preparing sales forecasts, revenue pipelines, and performance reports.

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Work closely with the finance team to ensure timely billing, collections, and credit management.
  • Coordinate with fleet maintenance to align vehicle availability with sales and operational commitments.
  • Assist in developing operational efficiency initiatives and cost-saving measures.
  • Prepare daily/weekly reports for senior management on operations, revenue, and customer updates.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in trucking, logistics, or freight forwarding (with exposure to both operations & sales).
  • Strong understanding of dispatching, fleet utilization, and freight rate structures.
  • Experience using load boards (e.g., DAT, Truckstop, local platforms) is a plus.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, TMS/ERP systems, or logistics dashboards.
  • Ability to work under pressure and solve problems quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Rs75,000.00 - Rs85,000.00 per month
