Your role:

As an Assistant Manager - Payroll and HR Compliance, you will take complete ownership of monthly payroll operations and ensure seamless statutory compliance across the organization.

What would you do at Khatabook?

• Own end-to-end monthly payroll processing, including salary calculations, deductions, arrears, and full & final settlements.
• Manage statutory compliances: PF, ESI, Professional Tax, TDS, and related filings under Indian labor laws.
• Ensure timely and accurate filings, reconciliations, and statutory payments with zero compliance gaps.
• Maintain accurate payroll data, employee records, and documentation.

• Support internal and external payroll audits and prepare reports for management and leadership reviews.
• Collaborate closely with HR, Finance, and external vendors to keep payroll operations smooth and scalable.

What are we looking for?

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of hands-on experience in Indian payroll processing.
• Strong working knowledge of PF, ESI, PT, TDS, and Indian payroll compliance frameworks.
• Proficiency in payroll systems and advanced MS Excel(this is non-negotiable).
• High attention to detail, strong ownership mindset, and clear communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
