Assistant Manager-Production

Job Objective

The Assistant Manager – Production will be responsible for overseeing and managing day-to-day production activities and ensuring smooth workflow, product quality, and timely output. S/he will lead the production operations and work directly with the senior management to develop processes, improve efficiencies, and establish a strong production framework. The role has a progressive career path towards Production Manager, based on performance and leadership readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and monitor production activities and ensure operational targets are achieved.
• Develop and implement productivity improvement and cost-saving initiatives to reduce rework and wastage.
• Plan and organize production workflows, manpower allocation, and resource utilization.
• Establish production standards, documentation, and reporting systems to drive efficiency.
• Implement internal controls (wastage, overtime, HSE compliance, 5S, Kaizen activities).
• Prepare production reports (daily/weekly/monthly) and present updates to COO.
• Supervise production team members, ensure skill development, and conduct on-job training.
• Motivate team, maintain discipline, and monitor timelines and output quality.
• Support continuous improvement activities and adoption of new technologies or methods.
• Track production KPIs and ensure quality targets, machine utilization and output benchmarks are met.
• Coordinate maintenance schedules and ensure preventive maintenance of equipment.
• Ensure health, safety, and environment standards are strictly implemented within the department.
• Liaise with external vendors/service providers to complete production tasks effectively.

Qualification

• B-Tech / BE (Mechanical or Industrial Engineering)

Experience

• 6–8 years of relevant experience in production/manufacturing setup
• Experience in leading teams will be preferred
• Capability to scale into role of Production Manager over time

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Rs100,000.00 - Rs180,000.00 per month
