What is Assistant Manager Strategy & Research – MMBL?

The Assistant Manager Strategy & Research plays a crucial role in shaping and delivering strategic initiatives in Pakistan's rapidly evolving financial landscape. The role involves working on mission-critical projects to address diverse challenges identified by senior leadership, including developing growth strategies, assessing new market entry opportunities, supporting digital product development, evaluating fintech partnerships and strategic investments, and designing operating models to enhance customer reach. This position provides the opportunity to work on cutting-edge topics at the frontier of financial inclusion and digital banking, connecting the dots across businesses and functions to deliver impactful solutions for underserved communities.

What Assistant Manager Strategy & Research – MMBL Does?

• Apply structured, hypothesis-driven problem-solving to address top strategic priorities across the organization
• Perform competitor/industry research leveraging both public and proprietary sources
• Develop strategic presentations for internal leadership and external stakeholders including regulators and investors
• Gather, analyze, synthesize and present data and findings to senior leaders across the firm
• Execute creative analyses and provide actionable insights to identify strategic issues and arrive at data-driven recommendations
• Collaborate with different stakeholders across functions including Operations, Risk, Technology, Finance, and Business
• Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and share insightful reports and analyses with broader team and senior executives

Required Qualification & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of problem-solving experience in management consulting, investment banking, or an internal strategy group.

Essential Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a quantitative approach.
• Proficiency in rational decision-making based on data, facts, and logical reasoning.
• Excellent organizational capabilities with the ability to independently initiate and complete tasks.
• Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills in English.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.

Desirable Skills

• Previous exposure to financial services, consulting, or fintech sectors.
