Assistant Medication Coordinator

Job Overview
We are hiring a reliable Medication Technician (Med Tech) for Garden of Eden assisted living facility. This role is responsible for safe medication administration and supporting resident care in accordance with physician orders and facility policies.

Shift Availability:

• Morning: 5:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
• Evening: 2:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
• Rotating shifts may be required.
• Part-time options available

Responsibilities

• Assure that all residents receive their medications as prescribed by their physicians
• Ensure proper storage, handling, and disposal of medications
• Maintain compliance with all facility policies and regulatory requirements
• Maintain accurate documentation on Medication Administration Record (MAR)
• Maintain updated medication files
• Assure that medication renewals are sent to the pharmacy on a timely basis
• Receive deliveries from the pharmacy and verify accuracy
• Assure medication room is kept locked and secure
• Assure all outdated, discontinued or expired medications are destroyed in the appropriate fashion
• Communicate problems and concerns to immediate supervisor

Requirements

• Medication Technician / Medication Aide certification (preferred).
• Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care settings is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Reliable and able to work assigned shifts.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, and medication administration procedures.
• Ability to work with EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation.
• Ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and medical records management.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Computer savvy, Microsoft Office.
