The Junior Assistant Nurse supports the nursing team in providing basic patient care and assistance, ensuring the well-being, comfort, and safety of patients under supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility.
- Monitor and record patients’ vital signs (temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respiration) under supervision.
- Help in maintaining patient hygiene and a clean, safe environment.
- Support nurses with medical procedures and routine patient care tasks.
- Assist in the transportation of patients within the healthcare facility.
- Prepare and maintain patient charts, reports, and documentation as instructed.
- Observe patients’ conditions and report any changes or concerns to senior nursing staff.
- Assist in administering medications or treatments as directed by registered nurses.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare protocols, hygiene, and safety standards.
- Maintain proper inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; diploma/certificate in nursing assistance or healthcare preferred.
- 0–2 years of experience as a nursing assistant or in a healthcare support role.
- Basic knowledge of patient care practices and medical procedures.
- Compassionate, patient, and attentive to patient needs.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and adhere to healthcare protocols.
- Physically fit to handle patient care tasks and extended hours.
