Job Purpose
To support the Operations Supervisor in managing day-to-day catering operations, ensuring the timely preparation, dispatch, and delivery of catering items. The role focuses on resource optimisation, adherence to safety and quality standards, and meeting customer requirements while driving continuous improvement in operational performance.
Key Result Areas
Prepare and manage resource allocation in collaboration with the Operations Supervisor to meet demand efficiently and achieve operational objectives.
Coordinate and ensure the timely delivery of catering equipment and items in collaboration with stakeholders to support smooth operations.
Supervise and delegate tasks to team members in the preparation, dispatch, and loading of catering items, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Provide guidance and support to team members, addressing performance or operational issues while promoting a culture of safety, teamwork, and efficiency.
Lead Behaviour-Based Safety Management (BBSM) checks and ensure compliance with departmental SOPs, food safety regulations, and company policies.
Monitor and manage inventory levels by tracking stock usage, coordinating replenishment, and ensuring materials and equipment are available to meet demand while minimising waste and controlling costs.
Assist in maintaining accurate records and reports on production volumes, inventory levels, quality control checks, and operational performance metrics.
Identify areas for process improvement and propose actionable plans to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction.

This role is part of the Flight Preparation Operations team and operates in a high-volume, fast-paced catering environment. The Assistant Operations Supervisor ensures compliance with food safety, company policies, and industry standards while managing operational processes. The job requires strong organisational skills, adaptability, and the ability to supervise teams effectively under tight deadlines, ensuring service quality and operational resilience.
Knowledge, Skills & Minimum Experience
Education Qualifications
Diploma or equivalent qualification (mandatory)
Work Experience
Minimum 3 years of experience in flight operations, food packing, or logistics, preferably within the airline catering or food service industry
At least 2 years of experience in a team leader or supervisory capacity (preferred)
Skills
Strong knowledge of operations management, including resource allocation and inventory control
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with team members and stakeholders
Ability to lead, supervise, and motivate teams while delegating tasks effectively
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address operational challenges promptly
Effective time management and prioritisation skills to meet strict deadlines in a dynamic environment
