Assistant Plant Manager

About Us

We are a drum reconditioning company specializing in reconditioning, painting, and shipping drums (barrels) to customers. In addition to reconditioned drums, we also supply new drums and totes. Our operations rely on safety, efficiency, and teamwork to meet the needs of our customers.

Position Overview

The Plant Manager Assistant will support the Plant Manager in daily operations, ensuring smooth workflow in production, shipping, and maintenance. This role requires a motivated, hands-on individual with experience in logistics, equipment operation, and facility upkeep.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Plant Manager with overseeing daily plant operations.
• Move truck trailers in and out of the yard and loading areas (CDL not required but a plus).
• Operate forklifts to load/unload and move drums, totes, and materials.
• Support the shipping and receiving process, ensuring timely deliveries.
• Monitor plant floor activities and provide support where needed.
• Perform maintenance tasks and basic repairs; welding experience is a strong plus.
• Uphold company safety standards and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Communicate effectively with team members, drivers, and management.

Qualifications

• Forklift operation experience – preferred.
• Previous experience in manufacturing, logistics, or plant operations preferred.
• Basic mechanical skills; welding/maintenance and electrical experience is a plus.
• Strong work ethic and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs. repeatedly
• Comfortable working in an industrial environment with drums, forklifts, and heavy equipment.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
