Job Summary
The Assistant Production Manager supports the Project Manager in the planning, coordination, and execution of live events, exhibitions, brand activations, and corporate experiences. This role ensures that all production elements — including Carpenters, Fabricators, AV, lighting, logistics, suppliers, and onsite operations — are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced event environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Pre-Production & Planning
- Assist in developing production plans, timelines, and technical schedules.
- Coordinate with internal creative, operations, and project management teams.
- Liaise with vendors, suppliers, and technical partners.
- Support in preparing production budgets and cost tracking.
- Source quotations and negotiate with suppliers when required.
- Assist in preparing technical drawings, layouts, and equipment lists.
2. Vendor & Supplier Coordination
- Communicate production requirements to , fabrication, and logistics suppliers.
- Track deliverables and ensure deadlines are met.
- Verify supplier contracts, scope of work, and compliance with project requirements.
- Coordinate equipment rentals and transportation logistics.
3. On-Site Event Execution
- Support load-in and load-out operations.
- Supervise setup of staging, lighting, sound, LED screens, and branding elements.
- Coordinate onsite crews and technicians.
- Ensure health & safety compliance during build and live event.
- Troubleshoot technical or operational issues in real time.
4. Budget & Cost Control
- Assist in monitoring production costs.
- Track purchase orders and supplier invoices.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
5. Post-Event
- Assist with dismantling logistics.
- Support post-event reporting and supplier reconciliation.
- Evaluate supplier performance and document learnings.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Production, Technical Theatre, or related field (preferred).
- 4-7years of experience in event production or technical event coordination.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Fabrication, Material Usage, sourcing of material, Carpentry, Metal work
- Staging & rigging basics
