ELV -Asst .Project Lead
Position Overview
The ELV Manager will oversee all Extra Low Voltage systems integration and delivery across complex commercial real estate projects, ensuring seamless coordination between multiple stakeholders while maintaining highest quality standards. This role requires strong understanding of MEP systems to ensure proper integration and coordination.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Design Management
Review and approve ELV system designs, specifications, and technical submittals
Coordinate closely with architects, MEP consultants, and specialized ELV consultants
Ensure MEP-ELV integration including power requirements, cable routing, and equipment mounting
Ensure full compliance with local building codes, international standards
Validate system integration and interoperability requirements across all building systems
Conduct design optimization reviews for cost-effectiveness and future scalability
Review MEP drawings for ELV infrastructure requirements and clash avoidance
2. Project Planning & Coordination
Develop comprehensive ELV implementation schedules with critical milestones
Coordinate execution among multiple ELV contractors, vendors, and system integrators
Integrate with MEP installation schedules to ensure proper sequencing and access
Manage complex interface requirements between different ELV systems and building infrastructure
Plan and schedule all testing, commissioning, and validation activities
Coordinate ELV rough-in with MEP rough-in activities and structural work
3. Quality Control & Compliance
Conduct thorough design reviews and technical audits at each project phase
Monitor installation quality and workmanship through regular site inspections
Verify MEP-ELV coordination during installation phases
Ensure strict adherence to approved project specifications and drawings
Validate system performance against contractual requirements and industry benchmarks
Implement quality assurance protocols and corrective action procedures
4. Systems Coverage (Comprehensive)
Security Systems: CCTV surveillance, Access control, Intrusion detection, Perimeter security
Communication Infrastructure: Structured cabling, Telephony systems, Wi-Fi networks, DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems)
Audio Visual Systems: PA/GA systems, Conference room AV, Digital signage, Mass notification
Building Automation: BMS integration, Intelligent lighting control, HVAC integration, MEP systems monitoring
Fire & Life Safety: Fire alarm system integration, Emergency communication, Evacuation systems, Integration with MEP fire protection systems
Smart Building Technologies: IoT devices, Energy management systems, Occupancy sensors, Smart parking, MEP equipment monitoring and control
5. MEP-ELV Integration Management
Coordinate power requirements for all ELV systems with electrical consultants
Manage cable routing coordination with MEP services and structural elements
Ensure proper grounding and bonding of ELV systems per electrical standards
Coordinate equipment room requirements with MEP space planning
Manage HVAC requirements for ELV equipment rooms and server spaces
Coordinate fire stopping and penetration sealing with MEP installations
Interface with MEP BMS systems for integrated building operations
6. Vendor & Contractor Management
Evaluate and select qualified ELV contractors and technology suppliers
Manage contractor performance through KPIs and regular performance reviews
Coordinate seamlessly between multiple system integrators, specialty contractors, and MEP trades
Resolve technical disputes and system interface issues promptly
Ensure contractual compliance and delivery commitments
Facilitate MEP-ELV contractor coordination meetings
7. Testing & Commissioning
Drive comprehensive testing protocols as set by Commissioning Authority (CxA) manager and client requirements
Coordinate with MEP commissioning activities for integrated systems
Oversee Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for all major ELV equipment
Supervise Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) and witness testing procedures
Manage integrated system testing across multiple platforms and MEP interfaces
Ensure complete handover documentation including O&M manuals, warranties, and training records
Facilitate user training and system demonstration sessions
8. Value Engineering & Cost Optimization
Conduct value engineering exercises to optimize system performance vs. cost
Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising functionality
Evaluate alternative technologies and implementation approaches
Support change management processes with technical and commercial input
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
Engineering Degree (Electrical/Electronics/Information Technology preferred, MEP background advantageous)
6-10 years proven experience in ELV systems design, implementation, and management
Demonstrable experience in large-scale commercial/mixed-use developments
Strong background in project management within construction/PMC environment
Fair knowledge of MEP systems including electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems
Technical Expertise
Deep knowledge of building automation and smart building systems
Comprehensive understanding of network infrastructure, cybersecurity protocols
Proficiency in ELV system integration and interoperability standards
Experience with BIM coordination and clash detection for ELV systems
Understanding of MEP systems integration including:
Electrical systems: Power distribution, grounding, electrical codes
HVAC systems: Integration with building automation, equipment cooling requirements
Plumbing/Fire Protection: Integration with fire alarm and suppression systems
MEP coordination processes and interdisciplinary collaboration
MEP Knowledge Requirements
Electrical Systems: Understanding of power distribution, load calculations, electrical panels, grounding systems
HVAC Systems: Basic knowledge of air handling, temperature control, equipment cooling requirements
Fire Protection: Understanding of fire alarm integration, sprinkler systems, smoke management
Plumbing Systems: Knowledge of domestic water, drainage systems where ELV integration is required
MEP Coordination: Experience with MEP coordination meetings, clash resolution, and interdisciplinary collaboration
Building Codes: Understanding of MEP-related building codes and their impact on ELV systems
Preferred Certifications
Project Management experience with formal PM methodologies
MEP-related certifications or training programs (advantageous)
