Assistant Prosecutor Family Court Division

The Logan County Prosecutor's Office is hiring an Assistant Prosecutor. You will gain immediate courtroom experience and assume an active caseload in Logan County Family Court.

Responsibilities:

• Preparing and litigating cases before judges or magistrates in Logan County Family Court including juvenile delinquency; temporary or permanent custody proceedings and adult protection cases.
• Provide legal advice to and legal representation of Logan County Children's Services including Family Court hearings, the Third District Court of Appeals, Ohio Supreme Court and other venues.
• Provide on-call responsibility for after-hours legal advice and requests from Logan County Children's Services caseworkers and law enforcement agencies.
• Prepare for pretrial conferences, adjudicatory and dispositional hearings, and annual custody review hearings with pro se litigants, public defenders, assigned counsel and guardians ad litem
• Prepare and respond to defense motions and demands for discovery

Requirements:

• Admission as an attorney to practice law in Ohio is required, but please apply if you are awaiting July 2025 bar exam results.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be highly organized and self-motivated.

Schedule: Monday to Friday 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. with occasional after-hours contacts.

Salary commensurate with experience.
