The Assistant Resident Engineer will play a vital role in overseeing and supporting the Resident Engineer in managing the construction project. This role involves daily supervision, monitoring progress and quality, and ensuring compliance with the FIDIC Yellow Book and contract specifications. The ARE will also contribute to technical reporting and coordinate the supervision team's activities.
- Support the Resident Engineer in supervising the Contractor's works according to the FIDIC Yellow Book.
- Ensure alignment of Contractor's works with the Contract and Employer's Requirements.
- Conduct daily supervision and monitor progress and quality of the works.
- Prepare technical reports and document the progress of the project.
- Coordinate the activities of the supervision team and ensure effective communication.
- Review contractor submissions, including materials, method statements, and shop drawings.
- Assist in contract administration and variation/claims assessment.
- Facilitate communication between the Contractor and the Engineer, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the supervision team as needed.
- 10+ years of overall construction experience.
- Minimum 3 years as an ARE under FIDIC contracts.
- 5+ years’ experience in Middle East projects preferred.
- Familiarity with projects of similar scale and scope.
- Strong understanding of construction supervision and quality control procedures.
- Ability to prepare comprehensive technical reports and maintain accurate records.
- Arabic language skills are an advantage.
- Experience in container terminals or marine works is an advantage.
