Assistant Resident Engineer – Civil (Substation)

Location: UAE

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Resident Engineer (Civil – Substation) to support the Resident Engineer in the supervision and management of civil works associated with substation projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for site inspections, technical coordination, and ensuring compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engineer in day-to-day project supervision, monitoring, and coordination.
• Conduct regular site visits and inspections to verify that construction works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
• Liaise and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and contractors to resolve technical and construction-related issues.
• Review contractor submissions, including shop drawings and technical documents, and provide input during Site Technical Coordination Meetings.
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to contract documents and accepted engineering practices.
• Witness site activities, including testing and inspections, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
• Assist with final inspections, project certification, and handover procedures.
• Ensure that adequate safety measures are implemented and followed at all times on site.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (BE).
• Experience: Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in civil engineering works, specifically within the UAE.
• Preferred Background: Prior experience working with utilities and authorities such as TRANSCO, ADDC, DEWA, or similar organisations.
• Strong knowledge of construction supervision, quality control, and health & safety practices.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams.
